We’ve been told that if we improve our overall health, we will improve our sexual health. What does this mean? Well, many of the problems that we experience, sexually, can be traced back to health issues and/or the medications used to treat them. Diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol or high triglycerides) can all affect sex drive and /or performance. For women, dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), pre-menopause and menopause can all interfere.
With today’s science, these things can be treated very effectively but at what cost? Our overall health, our sex lives? Now, we should look at the cost of repairing the illness.
