The first two things that I want to introduce you to are, Maca and Avocado. The Maca is a supplement and, of course, the Avocado is a food.

Maca

Maca is from the root of the Lepidium Peruvianum, it is found growing in the mountains in Peru. Because it grows in such a harsh climate, it is an adaptogen. This means that it helps raise our body’s resistance to disease through physiological and emotional pathways. It boosts energy levels and helps to equalize hormone levels throughout the body. Available in powder, liquid and capsule form, Maca can be added to smoothies, yogurt, and baked goods. You can also purchase chocolate bars with it already added.

Maca's Health Benefits

For the men, Maca will increase energy, vitality and stamina, and has been referred to by some as a natural ‘Viagra’.

For the ladies, Maca helps with PMS and menopause by leveling out hormone levels and easing menstrual cramping, hot flashes and night sweats. In menopausal and postmenopausal women, it helps with vaginal dryness as well!

It is also effective, for everyone, to level mood swings and to curb anxiety. It has also shown promise in the area of acne resolution, anti-aging, and skin softening properties, which is why it is starting to show up in more and more toiletry items (these benefits are believed to be received by ingesting the Maca as well via topical use).

This is just a short list of Maca’s other benefits:

• Better sleep
• Increases memory and brain power
• Helps to reduce aches and pains
• Strengthens hair and reduces hair loss
• Helps your body adapt to stress

Where to find Maca

You can find Maca at your local health food store and through online health food and vitamin retailers. When starting Maca, it is best to start with about 5 mg a day and increase your dosage from there, depending on how you feel. Take it in the morning and early afternoon.

Maca is not for pregnant women, nursing mothers, or anyone with hormone driven cancers such as breast or prostate cancer. As with any supplement, always consult your physician before taking anything new.

Avocado

Next is the Avocado. I know, most of you are thinking there is too much fat in an avocado!! Well, there is some fat in an avocado, but the fat that is in it is VERY good for you and actually fights belly fat!!!

There is a lot of new research being done on all the health benefits of the avocado and some of it is quite surprising! Recently, UCLA conducted a study that revealed when a hamburger was eaten with a half a Haas avocado the amount of the absorption of the inflammatory compound Interleukin-6 (which can contribute to coronary artery disease) was reduced by 30% signifying an overall increase in vascular health!! So, an avocado can make our hamburger healthier!!!

They are also very high in potassium which helps to balance our potassium-to-sodium ratio and that is great for our blood pressure!!!

Guys, all these great things for our vascular health mean great things for our sex life!!! We have to have great blood flow to our genitals for things to work properly, and avocado is definitely going to help!!!

Eliminating grain carbs is one of the best ways to support your health and maintain your weight, but when you cut down on carbs, you need to increase your intake of healthy fats. Avocados are an excellent source along with organic raw butter, coconut oil, and organic pastured eggs, just to name a few.

What's in an Avocado

According to the California Avocado Commission, a medium Hass avocado contains about 22.5 grams of fat, two-thirds of which is monounsaturated. They’re also very low in fructose, which is yet another boon, and provides close to 20 essential health-boosting nutrients, including:

• Fiber
• Potassium (more than twice the amount found in a banana)
• Vitamin E
• B-vitamins
• Folic acid

They’re also a top source of omega-3 fatty acids, which naturally boost your mood, making you more likely to feel ready for bedroom action.

Ways to Use Avocados

Some great ways to use avocados are in salads, they go well in just about any kind. Guacamole, who doesn’t love a good fresh bowl of mashed avocado, some chopped tomato and onion, some fresh squeezed lime juice and some chopped cilantro on warm chips!! Yum!!! Try some avocado in your morning smoothie, you’ll be surprised at how good it tastes!!! There are just so many ways to enjoy avocados every day!!

The thing to remember is to take good care of yourself, eat good, clean, whole foods, and drink lots of good clean water!!! Most of all, if you learn to love yourself it will be so much easier to open up and let someone else love you too!!! Until next time, healthy eating!!!

Love,
Kalee
