Butterfield Shooting Range

The Butterfield Trail Shooting Range is a public facility managed by the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department. The Range is open seven days a week, sunrise to sunset, except for Thursday until 3:00 PM when it is closed for maintenance.

The range is unmanned, so you will need to bring your own targets and clean up after yourselves, this includes empty shotgun hulls. No glass or "trash" items are to be used as targets.

The Butterfield Trail Shooting Range is located West of Las Cruces on Interstate 10 at Corralitos Exit (127). Or you can take the frontage road to the same exit (as seen in picture.) Turn right off the overpass and in a few yards you will see a road to the left, cross over the cattleguard and you are now at the beginning of the range. As you drive down that road you will see different ranges on your right.

The Range has several areas set up to accomodate most shooters. There is a trap and skeet range, a multi-bay pistol range (Cowboy Action & IPSC/IPDA), a covered and open pistol range, a 1000 yard rifle range, a combined smallbore and largebore silhouette range and a 50 yard-300 meter general purpose range.
