Helsinki, Finland is the capital and only metropolis of one of the most northern countries of the world.
The country of Finland has the world's highest standard of living which can be seen in the city. The city, itself, is built on 150 + inlets and islands all connected by bridges.
Much of the architecture of the city is in the style of FUNCTIONALISM and SUMMER MODERN possible owing to Finland being the largest producer of wood in Europe.
The absolutely beautiful Kamppi Chapel testifies to that product and its fine use which is laminated wood both inside and out.
Helsinki has many other beautiful buildings such as the Temppeliaukio Church which is hollowed out of solid rock,
the famous Olympic Stadium,
the Helsinki Music Center and others too many to name.
Helsinki's streets and parks are so very enjoyable to walk in and are filled with fun public art and unique artists.
Despite having four months of snow a year and a humid continental climate, Helsinki is a BUCKET LIST CITY.
