Prague is an old and beautiful city dating from the 1300s. Some of its historic wall

and gates

are still here and can be seen and enjoyed. The city is split by the Vitava River which is crossed by 20 bridges of which the 1,673-foot-long Charles Bridge

may be the most famous and the mighty majestic Prague Castle setting on a hill overlooks the city. Part of the castle is the St. Vitus Cathedral

with its St. Wenceslas Chapel of Christmas carol fame. Quaint tiny 16th century houses

which are built in the castle wall along a narrow lane are now an array of fun tourist shops while above in the defense level is a weapons museum.

The Astronomical Clock GLOCKENSPIEL

located in the Old Town Hall is possibly the most fun sight in Prague while the 700-year-old, overcrowded Old Jewish Cemetery

maybe the saddest. Prague has always been a worthy destination BUT now, as a free nation, it is a true tourist mecca.
