Sydney is Australia's largest and, possibly, it's most exciting city though it started out as England's infamous penal colony. Sydney is located on the world's deepest natural harbor which can accommodate great ocean liners and has an extensive and efficient ferry system.
The iconic Sydney Opera House is without a doubt one of the most unique, beautiful and identifiable structures in the world and well worth seeing and attending a performance in.
Public art and green spaces are plentiful and very dear to the hearts of Sydney's residents such as the little "trash heap" which was turned into Whiteley's Secret Garden and the huge pleasant Royal Botanic Garden and Hyde Park.
These green spaces are wonderful to stroll and relax in for tourists and as homes for wild birds, like the ibis who are notorious for raiding the trash bins and making a mess but are so very entertaining.
